Surge Protection with new demand for sophisticate electronic equipment

Applying of standards IEC62305-4 & ANSI/IEEE C62.41.1-2

supp_applying_of_standards_img1The standard IEC 62305-4 & ANSI/IEEE C62.41.1-2 defines the lightning protection zones LPZ0a/b-LPZn & C-A from the respect of the direct even indirect lightning effect. These zones are characteristic thanks to fundamental breaks of the electro-magnetic conditions in their limited zones.

LPZ0a: Zone where items are subject to direct lightning strokes, and therefore may have to carry up to the full lightning current; the unattenuated electro-magnetic field occurs here.

LPZ0b: Zone where items are not subject to direct lightning strokes, but the unattenuated electromagnetic field occurs.

LPZ1: Zone where items are not subject to direct lightning strokes and where currents on all conductive parts within this zone are further reduced compared with zones 0b. In this zone the electromagnetic field may also be attenuated depending on the screening measures.

LPZ2 and so on : If a further reduction of conducted currents and/or electro-magnetic field is required, subsequent zones shall be introduced. The requirement for those zones shall be selected according to the required environmental zones of the system to be protected. In general, the higher the number of the zones, the lower the electromagnetic environment parameters.

Applying of standard IEC 62305-4 & ANSI/IEEE C62.41.1-2 (Lightning international protection standard) is require several independent surge protectors installed separately in each boundary protection zone LPZ0a/b-LPZ3.

- If the AC DC MOS Protector - is installed in SERIES configuration on position 1, that expel the needs of surge protectors on positions 2 and 3. (protection boundary zone LPZ0a-LPZ3 & C-A ;acc.IEC 62305 & ANSI/IEEE C62.41.1-2 )

- If the AC DC MOS Protector - is installed in SERIES configuration on position 2, that expel the needs of surge protector on position 3.(protection boundary zone acc. IEC 62305 & ANSI/IEEE C62.41.1-2)

- If surge protectors are not installed on positions 1 or 2, then it is mandatory usage of AC DC MOS Protector in SERIES configuration on position 3. (protection boundary zone; IEC 62305 & ANSI/IEEE C62.41.1-2)

AC DC MOS Protectors are recommended to be installed on any position (sites) where standard IEC 62305-4 & ANSI/IEEE C62.41.1-2 was not implemented with protection boundary zones. The AC DC MOS surge protectors are class I+II+III.

AC DC MOS Protector presents multistage protection system consists of 8 (eight) protection stages in one device including ground filtering like basic option.

Installation of AC DC MOS Protector is expelling the need of using surge protectors in other protection zones, while reducing surge current up to 99% at a single point.

AC DC MOS Protectors are surge protectors of class I+II+III in one device according IEC 61643; B,C and D according VDE 0675.
